Default Fuel Ice Box ??

Okay reading through some mods performed by G&D on there ls1 range and it appears they have made a fuel ice box ????
They way it works as i have read is that it real cools the fuel down and as a result of how effective it is it actually iced up the fuel rails on the LS1 they were working on ???? :king:

So now my question is why havnt any of the g&D modified au boys tried this on the I6 ???
Cold air induction & cold fuel = more power

Looked into it, at the moment its not the best bang for the buck by a long shot. The performance gain is minimal for the effort required.

lol, I got a LOOOOOOOONG way to go before I even consider that sort of mod. A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG way. How about I actually do something to the engine first?

The theroy is good have seen the ones fitted to the Ls1s and it is part of a package .. have also see what happens to fuel lines when you fill it with dry ice not the smartest idea so if you are planning on getting or making one stick to normal ice ... how ever there are some cool things you can do with the discarded dry ice after you have frozen your fuel lines and they snap off Check with cams290 or any of the campers at the last Ls1 nats :monkes:
Cheers whoosha :

I couldn't see a performance benefit. When fuel is atomised by an injector, because of the massive surface area (mist) the fuel becomes very cold no matter what the ambient temp is. Also fuel atomises better at a higher temp (warm obviously, not hot).

Isn't this why there are cold air kit not cold fuel? The cooling of the air benefits the combustion process far more than the fuel.
