the thing you need to look at is the spline on the axle

early ea had 21 spline 2 pin lsd (if lsd)and late model ea (posiable from eb)-el had 28 sline 4 pin lsd

im not sure on single spinner though

hope this helps

EA's have 25 spline, 2 pinion centres. It also depends on what ratio diff gears were fitted to the centre... Even if you could fit the centre, you would need to change the axles, and I dont think you can. The main difference with EF/EL to earlier models is the handbrake setup. The axles may be longer in the newer models to allow for the handbrake differences

if it is a 3.23, then the centers will be the same..

early EA had 2.92 - 25 spline lsd
later ea and onwards have 3.08, 3.23 and 3.45 - 28 spline lsd

if it is a 3.23, the it will bolt straight in.

are you only bolting the centre in, or the gears as well?? if you are doing the entire diff, then you will have to jimmy around with the handbrake provisiion.
my advice would be to change the centres, but don't bother until you find some better diff gears as well. you have a 3.08 at the moment, upgrading to 3.23 will do two parts of stuff all.

look for a 3.89 or 3.92 diff out of an r32 skyline. they fit in falcon diffs and give far far far far..... far better accelleration. put that and any 28 spline lsd centre in your diff and you wont regret it. you can use your own axles with this setup too.

total cost:
3.89 gears 50 bucks from a wrecker
LSD - you have one already (make double sure its 28 spline tho)
$400 MAX for diff bloke to slap it all together with new bearings.

people will tell you to do it yourself, and use the shims that came with them blah blah blah... but dont. get a pro to do it. all housings and gears are different pending on wear. will cost you no more than $400 to do it, and you will have a diff that will last longer than you will oen the car.

If you are changing the crown wheel and it is a different ratio to the one you have you will have to change the pinion gear as well. Even if it is the same ratio i would be changing the pinion gear as the chances are is is worn slightly different to the other and you may get a diff whine.

The diff your refering to is 28spline. It was out of an ED Police car (opt20) on the tag. its of 3.27ratio.

go help everyone. Plus the diff was pulled out of the ed with 90,000km on the clock so id have about 120,000km on it now
