HI Guys,
just wondering if anyone has had the problem of the lcd display ( the one that shows km's ) dimming when you put your foot on the brake or when the blinkers are on. I am also noticing that at idle it also dims and when you rev the car it comes back up to the right brightness. I have just recently put a new battery in and the car starts with no problems. The alternator light doesn't come on but I am wondering if it might be a problem with the regulator or diodes in the alternator. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it can they let me know. Thanks Peter |

sounds like it could be an alternator problem. take it to an auto elec and see if they can fix it, otherwise you may be up for a new one.

A week or so I was beat on E-bay by $1 for a brand new one !!!! Can you just replace regulator/diode pack and brushes or does the lot have to be reconditioned. The V8 alternators aren't affected by the power steering leak as the alternator is on the opposite side of engine, so maybe just wearing out. |

mine is doing the same thing and from what i have been told the only way to fix the alternator is to replace it altogether i.e. theyre not rebuildable.

Hi b2tf,
have you had the symptons diagnosed by anyone or is there a simple test you can do with a multimeter? Does anyone the difference between the AUI visteron alternator and the AUII mitsibishi ones? Are they interchangeable? |
