heya all,
This evening on my way home (sydney), I saw a Taxi, a normal BA taxi. Odd thing is I looked at is as I drove past and I saw the copper l.e.d blue/red lights in the rear window, on the dash, on either side of the TAXI sign on the roof and 2 uniformed policemen inside, I saw the blue shirts with badges. Thought I was seeing things till they gave chase to an unsuspecting hoon.. Looked kinda weird seeing a taxi take off after someone. Just thought id share that with you all. Surely thats not legal? |

Sounds bizarre that they would do this, but there you go!!
The thing that would worry me if a taxi suddenly put lights on and wanted me to pull over is that what if it was a BS thing. How would you truly know?

I guess they really need to raise more money. They can now book up, handcuff you then charge you a fare back to the Police stn. :

A mate pulled a stunt on me with the lights one night. I couldn't visualise the car (out the back of the bush road on the way to the beach) with no street lights so I kept going until I could make out the car before I pulled over. There are some loonies out there and it pays to ensure your own safety.

Dont do stupid things on the road and you wont get pulled over? I dont know but feel this works usually! "The cops were corrupt and it was entrapment because I was doing 110 k's in a 60 zone not relizing there were corrupt coppers about" Oh grow up!

let me get this straight.
cops are allowed to use TAXI's, allowed to put speed camera in use signs IN FRONT of there car so you cant see it. seen this one on the highway comin home one night. a BEACH towel over the door so you couldnt see the police stickers on the side. and this is all legal and the government are just turning a blind eye to it. i say thats BULL S*%T Little fox

Just found this an exerpt from a paper called the drum in NT. “Using taxis as de facto police vehicles has been a highly successful operation and as simple as it is, was the result of some excellent police work combined with outstanding support from the taxi industry.” Check out page 13 http://www.nt.gov.au/pfes/corporate/...rum_dec_04.pdf |

im so sick of police pulling me over for random crap, got pulled over in my sisters brand new colt that had done 5,000 and they start looking at it as its a VL, give me a breath test wasts my time when im already late to pick up my g/f, they just love p'platers, then im my falcon atleast i havent been defected for anything other then tyres but i have been pulled over 5 times, 2 of them were for my exhaust been abit loud or that they say i rev my engin up too much, they should be out there arresting the bank robbers and not picking on 18year olds with nice cars, how about the bank robbers hear in sa the sucsesfully robed 7 banks before they got court, but there too busy defecting P'platers
