Default Gigantour

Just received an email from ticketek about the "Gigantour 2006" gig. The lineup has : Megadeth, Soulfly, Arch Enemy & Caliban (nfi?). It's a bit of a ghey name for a tour but the lineup is ok.

This looks like a good time for me to make up on missing megadeth the last time they came round.

yeah, Dave never was able to get Gigantour over last year. so this year is a treat.

the American line up is MUCH MUCH MUCH better though.

Megadeth, Lamb of God, Opeth, Overkill, Arch Enemy, and some others :sm_headba

and its relatively CHEAP.

Mustaine's inspiration for the tour came from the old cartoon "gigantor" still a odd name but whatever. as long as i see my favourite band again, and hopefully again, it wont matter!!!!

Megadth yeah, Arch Enemy yeah - the rest - meh...

Sunk Loto? Nu-metal wannabes back when, have they turned emo or metalcore, or whatever trend is applicable to selling album to kids these days?

Been some killer gigs this year though, Opeth, Dismember, Kreator, Disgorge, Cryptopsy, Queensryche, etc. Cannibal should be ok, and Deicide will rip if the new album is any indication. Dark Tranquility are touring, but like In Flames are crappy parodies of their former selves.

Going to Dark Tranquility Tuesday, really looking forward to that actually.

Then Nevermore at the end of October is the one I cant wait for :sm_headba

Might have to Give both Megadeth and Killswitch a miss due to money this time :(, saw them both the last times they were here so I'm not that fussed I guess

man Sunk Loto are awesome. not Nu-metal at all. when i saw em back in march or april they played some new tunes and they RIPPED. id call em hardcore though haha

i wanna see dark tranquility. but cant afford it.looking forward to BLS and cannibal, as well as nevermore, i wannace see Deicide as well. that will be killer! not really a fan of in flames. just generic Euro-metal.

So who went?
I went last night in Sydney and thought it was awesome !!!
Caliban rocked, SoulFly went nuts and even played some Sepultura classics and Megadeth were absolutely awesome as expected..... damn he's a legend on the guitar.
I didnt rate Arch Enemy at all..... but the kids seemed to enjoy it, is that kind of messy, unstructured & all-over-the-shop stuff what all the kids are listening to these days?
Being my very first concert I was really amazed and bewildered at the variety of different people attended, I couldnt believe how young some of them were.

Anyways I had an absolute ball and would definately go again next year.

Gigantour was effing awesome. i was on the barricade front and centre for the whole show. til i got slid towards the right during megadeth :

yeah i lined up with some friends at 11:30am... if anybody else lined up, i was walking around in a wife beater, shorts and boots.

Megadeth was insanely good as always! and yeah, bloody awesome night! cant wait til next year :sm_headba

Soulfly was pretty dissapointing though. Arch Enemy totaly outclassed Soulfly.

the "Wall of Death"...

i was front and centre on the barricade. but that wall of death looked fairly week. we did one during lamb of god last wednesday, which was organised by some guys in the crowd. that was INSANE.
