Default white in the inside black outside??

I had a look at an ed xr8 today .that was pearl black, but when i pulled up the back seats it was white.now i know you thinking its a respray or something dodgy, but it looks more intertsting then that, all the numbers match, there is no sign anywhere of cutting or changing of body plates ,vin numbers and so on,i guess my questions is ..whats the chances its come from that factory like this.im a pannel better spay painter by trade and there is no sign anywhere this car has been touched..

Ford cutting cost and only spraying colour on the parts of the car you see maybe? I know parts of my EF are like that, like under the bonnet/boot sound-proofing and behind the door trims. I can't remember if under the rear seat is though.

all's i can say is that sections of mine , ie. under the hood in various spots, various spots in the boot and behind the door trims, not sure bout under the seat, i think its all blue under there. but all these spots have bits of yellow coming through it which would be the undercoat they use.

Does the colour code on the Build plate match the code for pearl black?

LOL I like that one back in the bygone days I was a shop assistant and auto paint mixer and white and black were always the cheapest ,not black pearl mind you

And I worked with a young guy (well he was young then lol ) he went halfway through a spray painting apprenticship and during that time he had to paint 1 Ford with a door made from a 60 litre drum from the factory !!
