Default Water Injection

Hi peoples.

Now I know water injection can be used to great effect on anything that draws more than atmospheric pressure, but what about n/a cars?

I take it that it won't have the same dramatic effect on a standard engine, but on a hot engine (following the carbs-cam-compression route) would it offer much benifit?

i would also like to know this......
i know you get water injectors to stick around the pod and intake hose, with supercharger and turbo kits.....but would it work on n/a cars.....???

you can fit them to n/a cars, you just need a HIGH (70+psi) pressure pump for them to work properly along with a proper nozzle. boosted guys get out of it cheaper with a simple fogger nozzle (works with boost pressure). as to how much it works I have no idea.

I run a setup using a 35psi pump which is available from most boating/camping outlets. Costs $120 and with the correct size holley jet in place you can make a nice little sneeze of mist which virtually evaporates seconds after forming. I have tried this on both na and turbo vehicles with the turbo cars reacting the best.

The benifits are still to be had on the na machines especially when compression is up there but you have to have a very small mist, not big spraying droplets or it just puts the flame out. A temperature drop of 10 degees C into the intake will equal the same drop on the exhaust side meaning that valves and piston crowns etc are running cooler. Water injection can make this happen very easily and with methanol you can improve that by up to 30 degrees.
