i also thought the AU would have been the worst and least successful falcon. as i said eariler, the car has every problem sorted and is mint conditition, but im starting to think about waiting for an EL.

If u read my sig closely ul see ive got a el XR6! Had the EA for bout 12 months and it was a bucket of bolts! Had a leaking headgasket when I bought it! Worst car ive ever owned!
I say wait for an EF/L On my 2nd and they're fantastic cars!

fuel, rego, servicing ARE NOT A COST you can count, EVERY car needs them.
repairs can be argued as well, but are accepted as a cost.

I paid $3000 for my EA Ghia about 3 odd years ago, spent about $3000 on modifications/repairs mostly in the last 2 years.

$5K up your sleeve, pfffftttt, if you cant tell a good car from a bad car then sucker you be. I could buy an AU a need $5k of repairs quickly, bottom line DONT BUY CAR then penrith_panther.

I could buy an AU and it need $5k of repairs quickly i.e. any car regardless of value you could have $5k of unseen repairs needed.

No chance, anything pre-EA is bad, the AU is also bad.

haha i wasn't complaining? i was just merely stating my financial story so the other bloke would know it's not worth spending a few grand on an EA.... although they don't look the best the AU's aren't all that bad....my mum's got the base model 12/98 wagon on dual fuel...runs great...services it every 10000kms with ford with no real dramas except the usual tyre and brake changes (twice each)....

i paid $250 for a 5 speed EA about 6 months ago, put new tyres and rego on it, changed the harmonic balancer (free off of a wreck) timed it, then serviced it and then had to change two swing arms (free off of the wreck), hasn't had a single problem since and has 360,000 km's on it
