Default Do NF/NL fairlane back seats fit in an EF

Hi All,

As the title says, just wondering if anyone knows if the NF/NL fairlane backseats fit straight up in an EF sedan?

Thanks,

Justin.

IF it is anything like the NC seats into ED, which i recently did, the brackets that allow the rear seat to fold down, have to be swapped from the original EF seat onto the NF/NL seat.
You will also need EF Fairmont/Ghia side bolsters, as the fairlane ones dont fit.

Apart from the above, its pretty straight forward.

Hmmmmm To fit the fairlane side bolsters, is it just a matter of drilling a few extra holes in the EF?

Nope, they simply wont fit, the fairlane ones are too wide, and are shaped different underneath.

Yep what fairlane ghia has said is correct.

You can't use the side bolsters from NF/L in EF/L because they are bigger and different shapes for LWB (in the case of NF/L). And the fold down seat brackets need to be swapped as has been mentioned. The seat base will fit no worries.

Damn, I really wanna buy a full fairlane interior, but kinda useless if the side bolsters won't fit in the back!

Couldnt you use your old bolsters, just swap the covering over?

not really. I've done this conversion in my eb (whole dash and wiring and all) Its the reason why i dont have side boulsters at the moment, they need to go to a trimmer to be done

Anyone roughly know what a trimmer would charge to do something like this?

get some side bolsters out of an EF Fairmont or something, if we're talking about velour here... or an EB-ED with leather

I have NL rear seats in my EA. I had the leather taken off the NL bolsters and put onto my EA ones (it's not just a simple swap, the leather hasto be completely retrimmed to suite). Cost me about $90 per side, but i'm sure you can get it cheaper elsewere....

Nup, need to change brackets again.. its very annoying. Remember wagons are LWB, yet the seating is SWB... so its all annoying. The side bolsters wont fit either... same deal with NF/L to EF/L.

Basically, only "straight swaps" are SWB to SWB sedans, LWB to LWB wagons and LWB to LWB sedan.
