Default What's one car you wish you never sold?

Well the EF's days are numbered now, it will be gone by the end of next week at the latest, and as much as i hated it sometimes, and as much as there were things that needed fixing, i know i'll miss it. I'll miss being able to just plant it and watch the look on the Commodore drivers face, and ill miss having the roomy cabin.
That said, im very much looking forward to getting into the Focus because it has so many great things about it, but of course it's just not a Falcon and never will be. Good in its own right though, just 2 very different cars.

I know I'll miss the EF a fair bit for the first few weeks, and probably wish i still had it! So what are some of the cars you've owned that you wish you still had?

Mine would have to be my genuine 67 XRGT (closely followed by 429ci, C6 cusso).
The "Brown Bomber" XR was imaculately original apart from running a tunnelrammed 12to1 289. 9" ****, and Mickey Thompsons on 10" rears. Sold it in 1979 for $2800.. The bloody steering wheel or trigger shifter would be worth that now! :

Well mine was nowhere near as tough as the cars you guys are talking about (mmmm, 460 XB coupe) but I wish I never sold my MKII Escort panelvan. It was stock standard, mint white paint with no rust, crappy 1300 auto with a bed in the back. I have many memories in that car (mostly in the back ;) ).

There are two,

A 1948 Nash, sold it for $10 when I was 16

A 1956 Volkswagen Beetle, sold it for $140 when I was 20 (mine was multi-blue though)

Me too, I had a Datto 1600, it was a little sleeper. I had the head and motor done by a guy that worked on V8 Supercars and his contacts (cost me $300- and a bottle of Johnny Walker).

It left so many cars sitting at the lights. :eclipsee_

I got peeved after throwing a timing chain on the Great Ocean Road, had it towed home fixed it (never really was the same after that), then sold it.

Stupid... stupid... stupid... :

Well I haven't sold it yet, but my old XD. Dad and I did it up together and it served me well for 5 years. In fact my Dad is driving it at the moment, and he loves it too.
We don't want to sell it, and at the moment we're 95% sure that we're not going to.
But the day I stopped driving it and brought the BA home, Dad was guilt tripping me even then that the car I'd looked after for so long was sitting out in the cold and the rain and not in the garage where it would stay in good condition.
He very nearly made me cry.

The car I miss most is my old Sprint .... but I didnt sell it ... so that one doesnt really count for this thread.

The one car I did sell & still kick myself about was my old Corty ........ Limited edition Sports Edition, 4.1 was stock as a rock but man she flew .......... Should never, never, never have sold her ........... I should have spent the $$$ on the suspension ....... wouldnt the boy have loved her now :S

HX Sandman, 308, 4spd, lowered, full exhaust with Chevy drop pipes. The rear Tail Gate was floor to roof plexi glass. GTS guards, statesman front, GTS dash. 15x8's on the front and 15x10's on the rear. Car wasn't decked out in the back, but had the timber together taking shape of the interior.

If I could only find her again, and I think its in SA now, I would happily make an offer on it. Regret selling that car and I'm always thinking of it. I'd love to own that car again. My old man made be get rid of it, for a 4cyl Magna. I hate parents :

XB Falcon 500 station wagon - it was actually my Dad's car and we did it up together. Nothing special, but it was to me. Would love to have it back.:Reverend:
XC GS 351 Panel Van. Just loved that car and my first V8 and sold it over a girl:
XD 351 Fairmont - Unfinished project and got itchy fingers and sold it for a XR V8 ute. Bad move.:
XB GT Sedan- Sold it as a deposit on my home- Wish I didn't big time!!:
AU XR8 - Sold it to buy the wifes car, but wish I didn't. It was great car and much, much nicer than driving the LandRover I bought wth it.:
RZ TT Supra - Have not sold it yet, but will do eventually when I actually make a serious effort to do so. I know it's got to go, but I'm having way too much fun in it still. I can already tell I'm going to miss this car alot.:

I'm tossing up between the 79 V8 Hilux, or the 74 convertible Celica.. was so close to going the twin-cam supercharged donk!

I know I should have agreed to paying that extra 500 bucks to close the deal on a perfect XY 4X4 ute! Only 400 of them made, I think? They wanted 6 grand back then!

Thats exactly it Dez, no matter how shitty your first car may be i reckon they're the ones you always remember. There are some things about the EF that i hate so much, and in some ways ill be so glad when its gone, but in others i wish it was just staying in the garage ready for the times when i feel like taking it for a drive. Was heavy rain tonight so i had to take it easy in it, but it felt secure and handled itself really well - a feeling that i'll never forget, because while everyone else i knew was spinning out at roundabouts in the wet, i was doing fine with the Falcon.

My first car. It was an EA but it was one of the cleanest getting around (still is, my brother bought it) I always had big plans for that car but never went through with them.
