How True.

I did own a 1974 XB 500 That i bought off a forum member.

But it was too much hard work. God the 250 in that hammered though!

Welcome, you have good taste.

Find a EL Ghia if you can, I was in the same position, at the times people were asking silly prices for an AU Ghia, and it didn't offer anything of greater significance over the EL.

Good luck!

Oh and get an 8!!!

Welcome aboard Harro... have fun making a useful contribution here now then..

Keep your eye on the for sale section, you are sure to find a decent priced decent vehicle there and if you really wanted to upgrade then you shouldn't go past an EF (or is that me being biased again : )

Welcome,

It must hurt to be a Ford fan and be driving a VT?

You'll get a lot of EF/L AU for 10K.

Try here for starters!

EF/L Fairlane V8
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=75438

AU Ghia
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=77956

EL Ghia
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=77485

EF XR8 on dual fuel
http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=77791

All the best with your hunting, 10k will certainly get you something good!

The last one looks good, already on dual fuel.

Cheers,

GK

Welcome Harro.

I would also go the AU over the E series. If you can (and will be able to) find a ghia with the tickford VCT for under 10K....you cannot go wrong. Sold my liquid silver for under 10 with leather and all the goodies, and the VCT is a brilliant engine. They look grouse. Should have kept that and not got the BA! It was a better car :
