Default Au Series 3 Te50

Hi All

I'm on the lookout for an automatic, low kilometre example of one of these babies.
I've only just made up my mind so am about to start looking.
I am in Perth and can't imagine there's too many of them about.

Any tips or pointers to assist me in my hunt ?

Thanks

Thanks Jones Aus

I would definitely consider travelling and I absolutely love that color BUT unfortunately it has to be an auto as my wife will be driving it at times.

Cheers

For a start you have to shop in the East - cars in WA are way overpriced. You will save at least $5k by buying over here and driving it back yourself. And have much more fun into the bargain.

This one might be up your alley - and you'll probably be able to haggle a coupla thou of the price - get your missus to buy it - is she pretty? Always worth a bit of a discount - most blokes (even salesmen at a dealer's) are suckers for a pretty face LOL.

Thanks for all your replies, appreciated.

SButler, I can't find the listing your referring to, but that is exactly what I'm looking for. Am happy to pay a premium for the right car as it will be a keeper. Can you give me a link ?

Thanks again guys.

xbcoupe here ya go..

That is a great looking car with bugger all Ks While I think $37 is a bit high I really think that is a very good buy>>http://www.australianmusclecarsales.com.au/muscle/70598
Although I think your looking for an auto..

Buy the way:: With 27000Ks I would say the tyres, brake roters & pads will be shagged...But that give you the upperhand in dealing with the owner..

There is a couple on carsales.com as well but not with those sort of Ks :evil_laug

BA 5.4ltr / SButler

EXACTLY what I'm looking for. I am going to enquire about this car, particularly like the silver as the interior is all charcoal....perrrrrrrfect.

I have never bought a car from Australian Muscler Car Sales, nor do I know anyone that has. I assume they charge a fairly healthy commission for selling via their sight.

Does anyone have experience with this sight ?

Secondly, looking on the red book website, it states that the national average price of private sales for auto series 3 te50's is $16500 - $19500 with an average of 40000 - 70000km's. What the ??? that's gotta be way too low surely ??

Would love to see some opinions of what you guys think this would be worth.

Once I find out where this car is, I'll be looking for some kind soul that might be nearby, or know of someone nearby, to look at it for or with me.

Will post again as soon as I hear back from them.

Thanks for all your replies people - much appreciated and very helpful.

Incidentally,

Australian Muscle Car Sales charge 5.5% on sales......eg $1925 commission on the sale of a $35000 vehicle !!!

Good work if you can get it.

I have contacted them and am waiting for a return call .....

I'd love to find a dozen at $16500 I'd buy them all!!!

The red book is a joke the car yards use to screw you.

: Has anyone EVER, & I mean EVER seen a TE/TS50T3 in ayard for $16500???

I didn't think so, because they dont exsist !! simple as that. So the red book is a crock'0'shite.
They can only take an avarge on sales over the last 12 months, & we see these things cropping up in car yards all over Australia, do we? So how they get there data for these cars is beond me! :

YES

Redbook is a crock............

It is amazing the response I've had from people in Ford circles about the TE50/TS50.

You either love them or hate them.

Personally, I see a BA/BF drive by and I don't even turn my head, they're so common. Like them, but too common. But to all who bag the TE50/TS50, the BA's arrival is the thing that turned them off the AU..................

Build numbers are the thing that will count in time as to the collectability of these machines.............. last and best of the Tickfords.

I have tried to get a response from the Tickford NSW club on these forums so I can get the TE50 on Australian Muscle Car Sales inspected.... no response so far.

The people at australianmusclecarsales.com.au seem to be quite genuine, probably a very good service for people selling quality cars that don't want to be bothered by tyre-kickers. You have to stump a 5.5% deposit (of asking price) as a buyer, which is refundable if you don't proceed, to simply enquire about a listed car. No direct contact between buyer and seller, which is great for anyone selling a car of quality.

Will post any progress

Thanks again for all your responses and interest in my dilemma.

Andrew

I was talking to extremeF6 last week and he said his fathers car has 19000k's on it, if that's the case it would be perfect, even better than mine !!! give him a go and see would be my advice. And yes they are much cheaper over east, got mine a lot cheaper there but never had the pleasure of driving it back, trucked it over.

redbook probably also bases their figures on age of vehicle and average km, then work out the value on that...they probably don't even take into account limited build numbered cars

That Te has been listed on Muscle Car sales for ages, I check the website regularly (window shopping).

Its been there at least 12 months.

I just bought a T3 TE50 and atm buying interstate is probably the best option. The cars a cheaper and more plentiful. Red book is a load of crap, when i was getting mine insured they quoted the market value on the car to be $29,700. There are plenty of good examples for cheaper than that! Plus i have a feeling redbook lumps the series one, two and three cars together when they value the cars.

http://yahoo.drive.com.au/buy/market...s=&year=&body=

thats a bit more realistic.

The only people that bag the AU3 T series are BA XR/GT owners. Its been going on for years..

I would say australian muscle car sales are very reputable compony so I doubt you'll have any issues with them.

If you can find out were the car is I would be happy to go over it for you. I live about 60 minutes from Sydney so there will be no problem for me to take a drive & have a look for you.

Hope this helps..Steve
