Just wondering what the term divvy means? people been calling me it as of late...my names dave but i duno how they made divvy out of it. Does anyone know what the term divvy means??

Divvy? As in a (police) divisional van? As in "you're going home in the back of a divvy van" commonly chanted at pubs?

yep thats right, well "divisional utility van" is the correct term

Doesnt it also commonly mean to distribute goods or money between people eg. divvy up the change.

Urban Dictionary comes up with the following:
Divvy...a person who is a bit of a waster, or is unemployed. Comes from the dole, which is DIVided to the unemployed. A shorter version of this is the word Divv, which also means the same thing. OR Used usually as a Harmless Insult Usually meaning silly / stupid / idiot but in a harmless non threatening way
