My suggestions aim at learning how to drift and/or attending skid pan defensive driver training courses. These two things will teach you all you need to know about how to treat a sticky situation and will hand you plenty of good experience. I really do think that everyone should have to do one of these courses before they receive their licence as it's a life saving exercise. Not only that, it's the best legal fun you will have in your car, i promise. We've all had close calls due to inexperience so lets chip in where we can to help get this thing back on the road. Safe steering guys.

it just started ****ing down rain here last night for the first time in over a month at least id think.
driving a BA xr6 (and im on my P's)
i managed to accidentally spin the wheels while going staight and not putting the foot down much at all (this is with basically 1 month old tyres)
and then turning into my street (which is only about 30 meters from the first wheel spin so same sort of tar) i managed to put the car sideways hardly touchign the accelerator. so i know how easy it is to loose the control in the wet.
iv always found taking the foot off the accel fixes it up very quickly especially at low speeds.
good luck with the car dude.

yes i did read the thread and it appears that the young fella got excited in his new XR6 and lost it at a roundabout, hitting another vehicle in the process.

NO ACCIDENT.

I always see idiots like these that come out when its raining and try there drifts on every roundabout.

Why does only having 10 posts matter, whether 10 or 1000 its still a valid point.

i cant take anything but a harsh stance on people that "lose" it.

My missus goes for walks alot and takes the kid sometimes and nearly every time she comes back with a story to tell about some drongo nearly takin her out.

If ya cant drive to the conditions, then you shouldnt have your licence. Bald tyres are no excuse. Lack of experience is no excuse. The only way you "lose" it is when givin it heaps or going to fast for the turn. End of story.

im sure my mum was being a HOON when she span out on a round about to.
fact of the matter is you don't have to be young or a hoon or even going fast.
some tar especially at intersections i find it smoother and slippery. especially when it has just started to rain and it mixes with the dust and dirt and makes mud.
i see your anger at hoons and people driving stupidly and causing a risk to family etc but that doesn't meen you can go abuse some guy you don't even know when you wernt there and you don't know exactly what happened.
try showing your concern on the issue without being an idiot about it.

he does care , i know that he does , hes been a bit of a mess since it happened. and as im sure it has already been said numerous times , it was inexperience most of all it was a combination of alot of factors. you being a jerk doesnt help the situation at all.
