Default GTHO III built for Allan Moffat AUCTION

It appears that a GTHO III specially ordered and built for Allan Moffat is to be auctioned. The car has 26000 miles and is in concours condition.

Quote:
Bonhams & Goodman is pleased to announce the consignment of an historic Ford G.T.H.O Phase III for the March Collectors' Cars Auction

The famed G.T.H.O was developed for racing and is the ultimate Falcon GT. The prototype was built by racing legend Allan Moffat in 1970 and prepared for the long distance race at Bathurst. Moffat went on to achieve back to back victories in phase II and III versions of the car in 1970 and 1971.

This example was built in May 1971 to the express order of Mr Moffat and optioned to his specific requirements. These options remain on the car, as per a specification sheet from the Ford Motor Company signed by Mr Moffat. It is in concours original condition with a total recorded mileage of only c26,000km. This fine car will headline the nationwide auction of Collectors' Cars on 25 March 2007.

Maybe its 26,000 miles then, in either way a 1971 Genuine GTHO III will be worth as much as a house, even more, lol

That it was built as Moffats personal driver... I'll make some enquiries and see if its right or wrong.

Absolutely, if its got a genuine 26,000 miles on the clock and still has its original engine and its in perfect condition its going to fetch big $$$

If it is as claimed to be Moffat's personal car it will attract a premium though..

NICE, so what price do you guy's think it will go for? I'm thinking 500k plus as a HK Bathurst Monaro recently sold for 300k :togo: at auction so surely the Phase 3 is worth more?

Mick.

Didn't a black GTHO with a sunroof sell for $400k

SO I would think more than that............

But as the Rich people have seen that these will just increase in value and they will buy to store somewhere and sell at a later date

More like $600k I would think

Methinks just south of the 1 million mark. Well into the 900,000 anyway.
Didn't some guy in Melbourne buy one last year for 1.2?

Now Allan Moffat advertises GT radials.
Apparently he and Brock did not get on at all.
Had a massive falling out years ago and also was instrumental in the Brockie Wife beating allegations that surfaced a few years ago.
