Similar to the two hikers who decided to climb Mt Variable weather, even after Gramps (Bud Tingwell) and The ****weak Kids told them there was a storm coming.
Edwin Maher (the former Channel 2 weatherman) even said that if you are caught in a storm, do not seek shelter in precipitous cliffs. But the hikers did. Thank heavens Charlie the Wonderdog was there to save the day. Charlie, we love you! |

Yep When I was in the Army Cadets I did my ATA course at Mt disappointment.
There was some cadets from all over Victoria there that week and a unit 1.5km from us found a dead body.. It was told to us that the person had been dead for at least 10 years and found with all there stuff like they were a hiker.

There is an old truck chassis with a sidevalve V8 motor in it half way up a track that comes out somewhere not far from Wandong.
I did some trail bike riding up there years ago, bloody rocky and steep.

Was on TV from 10:30 (I think at least) on Saturdays for an hour in 1992 and 1993. According to some bozo in the Herald Sun, it is the 8th greatest Australian TV show ever. The main show featured Rob Sitch, Jane Kennedy, Tony Martin, Mick Molloy, Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner and Jason Stephens. Judith Lucy joined the crew in 1993, but I don't think she was all that suited for the show. They pretty much took the mickey out of anybody. They would have had a great time giving manure to John Howard and Kim Beazley. Classic TV. No wonder children think Home and Away, Neighbours, Big Brother, Australian Idol and other overrated pieces of doodie are good TV. We over-censor all tv shows now. You can't have any fun without some crybaby suing somebody. Charlie the Wonderdog was a series that had a Tom's Dog, Charlie "saving the day" when the ****weak Kids (or somebody else) got into trouble. Charlie never did anything though (in reality). It was meant to be a ****take of the ****y kids TV shows of the 80s. You can purchase "The Best of The Late Show Champagne Edition" at any ABC Shop or ABC Centres. |

Sounds like a pretty disappointing place, all told...
Oh come on! SOMEONE had to say it By the way, The Late Show was national... I was a HUGE fan of it here in NSW back in the day. So were all my mates. I think it's grown in popularity on video and DVD in the years since, though. |

The prosthetics on The Late Show were great. The Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation was great. I also liked Sitch's Paul Lyneham, John Hewson, Jeff Kennett and F.W. De Clerk impersonations...also because of the content. Tony Martin's Paul Keating impersonations were good too. |

A few years back we went to a wreck site near Monto. Long way off the beaten track and on private property. These are some pictures taken at the site. It is/was a C47 transporter..
http://home.st.net.au/~dunn/ozcrashes/dak06.jpg http://home.st.net.au/~dunn/ozcrashes/dak05.jpg Aviation arceology used to be a bit of a hobby when we lived in QLD. Cape York is littered with WW2 wrecks. Especially Aircobra's.
