Default AUIII Futura Auto Trans Issues

Recently I have noticed that once in a while when I drive the Futura, from stationary, there will be a slight, but distinct 'jerk' just in first gear... Then the other night when I went to change lanes with a bit of force, involving the pedal, it was like the feeling in a manual car, how the revs rose, but the car didnt go anywhere... My cars auto...

I tested it again and it was fine, but it still 'jerks' every now and again.

Im a bit worried... its only just gone over 100,000kms.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sound like the torque convertor may be slipping.

have you had the auto serviced at all if not get a full flush and service get them to drop the pan and fit a new filter while they do that check the filter out and see how it looks if the bands have been hurting there will be gold spots on it thats the brass wearing showing deteriation.

Hope all is well.

Check out this thread in this forum.

It could also be your solenoids (relays) in your transmission.
I have just had mine replaced (the no.5 solenoid/relay) on my 98 au after drive loss when cold/first few kms, and sometimes when in the lower gears on my auto.

It's sweet as now, and I was worried I was in for major surgery on my tranny-but it was fine.Your autotrans specialist should be able to hook her up to the diagnostic computer and pinpoint this pretty quickly for you.

Good luck.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for your comments.

I think I will start with a flush, top up the oil and check the filter with a mate and if there is still trouble, it seems to head to a trans shop for some diagnostics.

Give that a shot, touch wood its all ok.

Only done a tame 100,000kms - So Im thinking it shouldnt be too bad!

Thanks again guys!
