Default Looking At Escorts (AGAIN)

Ok guys gettings to the time i really need a run around car my current car is my signature have a look. I started a thread about it and a few guys said get a 2litre escort there awsome and quick as! And i have asked on hear befor and some guys said i need a few grand to actually get it going quick.

Where these guys were saying they are rockets and that they have driven them and they are the fastest 2litre they have driven blah blah blah.

My uncle bought one off a old fela that was about to fly off the planet was a Manual 2litre GHIA and he said it hammered the fuel like no tomorrow and was slow as.

So whats the go!?

Also if you want to go quick do you really need the triple carbs?

Thanks heaps.

considered getting the car tuned properly?
i have a reasonably fast 2ltr. but it didnt come cheap.
i picked up a secondhand motor which had some work done, head ported and a mild cam. i put it in my MK2, and it wasnt that flash. took it to a mechanic, put it on the dyno, and now its great.
its got 62kwatw through an Auto. which isnt too bad, if i had a manual, it would be better.
fuel economy isnt that bad either with 10l p/100km on hiway.
