Default upgrade map sensor??

Is it possible with an edit on a au falcon ECU to upgrade to a 2 or 3 bar map sensor, can a edit change the strategies to work such thing??

I know it is possible with some EEC strategies to change the MAP sensor for one that can measure more boost (i.e. a 2 or 3 bar MAP sensor). This has been done a few times on BA and BF's for tuning turbo and supercharger conversions.

i could understand on an BA and BF as there are turbo factory models available

i have NFI how and edit works so NFI

All map sensor work within the the same voltage range 0.5 to 4.9 volts

1 BAR 0.5V = 1 BAR neg, 4.9V is 0 BAR
2 BAR 0.5V = 1 BAR neg, 2.75V = 0 BAR, 4.9V = 1 BAR pos
3 BAR 0.5V = 1 BAR neg, 2V = 0 BAR, 3.5V = 1 BAR pos, 4.9V = 3 BAR pos

seeing from that the resolution of the fuel and ignition map decreases with the increase of size of a MAP sensor

so for example u have 64 tuning points for 1 BAR on a 1 BAR map sensors, u will have only 32 tuning points for each BAR on a 2 BAR map sensor and 21/22 tuning points for each BAR on a 3 BAR map sensor.

so if a edit can reprogram the actual fuel map to allow the split of tuning points between positive and negative pressure, then yes in theory it can be done.

i hope that sorta points into the right direction of your question

EvilChief you have lost me with all that technical wizzary !! lol
I do sort of understand what u mean, so does anybody know if the edit can reprogram the fuel map points or has anybody tried such a thing ?????

Dude, speak to Headsex...or Martin Donnin.

They have both done this on non-turbo BA/BF Falcons for supercharger and turbo conversions. If it can be (or has already been) done on an AU, then I am sure they would know.

I thought up to EL ran a MAP sensor, and since the AU they run MAF sensors in the i6 anyways, or am I wrong.

Nope.

The only EFI I6 Falcons to use airflow meters, where the XE and XF Falcons (using a vane-type airflow meter).

All E-Series and AU V8's where MAF based.

All BA/BF's regardless of I6 or V8 are MAP based.
