Did you remove the front & rear windows or did you leave them in?

The guy down my street does car restoration/spray painting and runs a panel shop with another guy so they let me use their booth in exchange for two slabs of Beam. I sprayed it myself though.

It's the final step before hand waxing the car. Basicly, after you buff out the sanding marks with the cutting compound the car will be shiny but in the sunlight you will see those white looking buff marks. You know the ones you always see on cars at second hand car yards? Using swirl remover on a very soft buffing pad gets rid of these so all you see is the shine...with no swirls.

Mate personally I wouldn't really feel confident buffing your car incase I did actually burn through the paint. It really doesn't take much to **** it up. Even Sunny bites his nails everytime I wind that buffer up lol....

Nah left them in, just removed the side glass. The windscreen is ok because I managed to fold the rubber at the top of the windscreen back and painted underneath it. The rear window is another story.....just relied on some good masking up there.

I'll post some pics in a minute.....

Today I got down the booth at 8am and started putting the car back together roughly just so I wouldn't get pulled over on the way home. Sunny came down and helped as usual then we drove back to my joint to put it together properly.

It didn't take long to do but we kept sitting around because it was so hot. No one wanted to touch the front bar because its such a pain in the *** to put back on.

Had to put the handles on, side glass and rubbers back in, door trims on, front and rear bars, side moulds, mirrors, headlights, tail lights, boot lock...that's about it.

After that Ash and Damo came over and we went down to the car wash and gave it a good clean to get all of the sanding dust out of the door jams and engine bay.

There's a few pics attached cause I've run out of web space atm. After all of that I didn't get any good pics of the car when it was all back together! We chucked Pats wheels next to the car just for giggles :P Much better than stockies! BTW before any of you eagle eyes point it out, in the pics the bars and lights are all wonky because they're just sitting there with two bolts each. In that pic where I'm putting tyre shine on the wheel that's how it looks now.

Just out of curiosity, how much roughly has it cost you for a respray?
