I have an avatar which is the max in terms of size 100x100 but htere are ppl on here with bigger pictures than that, how do they do it?

they're moderators, once the donating member system is setup, donating members will receive larger avatars.

I think you were allowed 140 pixels at first and then it was put down to 100 so some of the normal members that havnt changed their avatar since the site started will have bigger ones, and as EFFalcon say mods get bigger ones. I could be wrong though.
