Because the radar and laser technology has always been 100% accurate :

Amazing isn't it. This bloke is not yet 16, doesn't have his L's and I would guess never been behind the wheel of a car on the road yet (At least I surely hope not).

I would take his comments with a grain of salt. Its always amazing how good they are when they haven't experienced it.

Probably... I wonder how many times his ridden his pushy without a helmet? Or ridden across a crosswalk instead of dismounting and walking across. Bet he doesn't even have a headlight on the handlebars for riding at night.

"does everyone realise that the radar guys will "shoot " you about 3 times, as they check your speed, ??"

Mate a Detector won’t save you from a hand held as the detector will only detect it once it is pointed at you buy witch point your speed has already been taken buy the Officer.

However it will pick it up if it is pointed at another car before yours, and it will pick up all multinovers and in-car speed detectors and give you just enough time to slow down.

I am not promoting the use of these items as a excuse to speed, I am talking about there use so you can spend less time looking at your speedo and more time looking at the road and not get caught buy some c**t behind a camera who’s only goal is to catch people out in a speed zone change.

………….
I don’t get it just cause you are caught speeding you don’t have to be fined for it, the other week coming back from up north after a work related trip the old man pulled over 6 cars but issued 0 fines and all were travelling 10km/h or more over the limit in a 110km/h zone.

When I ask why, he said there is more than one way to approach/ deal with each situation in his line of work and the other officer and himself didn’t feel at the time a fine was the best corse of action (he isn’t traffic cop but has been a Cop for 36 years a Old fashion style cop).

Cheers.

Even if this twit is "nearly 16" and has no idea about driving a car even he does not deserve that

its funny how if you approach a 60kph sign, you must slow down to be at 60kph by the time you reach that sign.
But if your doing 60kph, and approaching a 80kph, why doesnt that rule apply where as you approach it you speed up to 80kph, to be doing 80kph by the time you pass the sign ;)
A very good point, i have often thought why not a increase decrease zone, something like we have now but with an up arrow ( increase > 80) or down arrow ( < decrease to 60) with proper distance intervals to allow this to happen based on the speeds indicated.

To often you can be on a highway and go from 110 - 80 etc and its stupid to think that your going to hit the brakes or slam the pedal in the opposite.

There would be no need to change anything but place another sign before the 80K sign at the correct distance < 80 and one after the resume 110K sign to read 110K and the original 110K sign changed to > 110 .

As for revenue raising it sounds like your catching up for sure, our roads minister Mr Fooley, showed on the news the expected revunue for this year from speeding fines.

The problem with this he never addressed any measures to cut speeding or improve saftey, other than to impliment more cameras and to increase all speeding fines by some $10 - $15 across the boards but in that never explained how this increase would improve road saftey.

Outbackjack..instead of paying said fine you should have contested and kept getting it adjourned until such time as the gnome is out of power and then it would'nt exist.

And I wasn't having a go at him either, as I had mentioned previously. My comment was aimed at all drivers as a whole. For example, every single day I am nearly bowled over at a particular slip lane (with lights) because people don't seem to understand that red means stop. I really couldn't give two shits if someone on the other side of the country sped up before a speed zone. I was just 'venting' my frustrations with certain drivers.

Let the man vent, i say!

Well firstly, I don't see how it makes a difference whether I have my licence, how old I am or if I have a tendency to burp when my back is stroked. My stance won't change whether I'm 20,30,40 or 50. There are certain laws there that are in place for a reason, not every single law is there so " we can't have fun ". Speeding is one of them, and as I said I wasn't having a go at the guy, and it was in a sneaky spot and I acknowledged that.

Well as I said I wasn't having a go at you specifically. Hmmm... "little twerp", I like how you've made the connection that because I am a young bloke I must be two and a half feet tall with a pedal car. Well done. I'm sure you feel like a big man.

Ha, oh yeah mate i'm a rebel. You should see all the things I do, like start walking when the little red man is flashing at crossings, speaking with my outside voice in the library, walking up the down escalators, loitering in no loitering zones and wearing the same pair of jocks more than two days in a row just to name a few. :

Who the hell is Harold Scruby?

Anyway guys, I wasn't having a go at ANYONE here specifically and I'm not here to make enemies. No point in ganging up on me simply because I made a comment that the road rules should be abided by is there?

Cheers

Too late, I have paid it already....... I hate these things hanging around. But I have also taken other measures to ensure that it doesn't happen again.

Cheers,......... bring on the next election.

It does make a difference. Until you get out on the road, in a car by yourself, you can only say you wont do those things. I think its a little hypocritical of yourself to make comments like that before you actually experience it.

You seem like a smart bloke. But I find it hard to stomach any criticism directed to me or anyone when a) Chances are they not an angel themselves and shouldn't be preaching and b) Have yet to experience themselves in a given situation.

We all know the road rules should be abided by. Thats a given. But we all know that in some cases we don't. Tis why I dont scream and preach when I read of someone doing something wrong. Chances are I've done it 20 times already.
