I sprayed mine with what I thought was a dark grey, but it turned out white! :S

It was a quick five minute job with little to no prep. One day I'll get around to doing something with it properly.

Any excuse to post pics

My car is cardinal red, so I bought some pressure pack touch up paint and painted it to match the body, and then spent a few hours with a tiny paint brush picking out the writing with black. Then the whole thing was clearcoated...

I also re-tapped the holes and fitted stainless button headed cap screws.

On my old NC fairlane, I just cleaned it, and sprayed it with clear. I don't have a pic of that, but it came up really nice, as it looked darker, and the metallic of the graphite really came out.

Engine cover was like this when I bought the car, but from the looks of it it's been polished and given a coat of clear.
I need to get a BA bonnet hump or remove the heat mat from under the bonnet as it's been rubbing and has fouled the polish, won't buff out either.

Those whoe have painted their engine covers with presasure pack paint, have you found any problems because it's not heat resistant paint of peeling or bubbling?

Mine has only been painted for a month or so, and so far so good!

My old NC's engine cover paint lasted for ages untill the car was written off... :P

I had trouble with the engine touching the mat under the bonnet - turned out to be the left hand engine mount broken!!

Yep I miss it too. Was a damn good car. Have heard it hasnt been kept as well anymore. Which is sad.

Back on topic. I had my engine cover proffessionally prepared, smoothed and painted. Had no issues of the paint peeling off.

hmmmm, might be worth checking them in the morning then.
Think I might just need some new clips on the mat though (I hope)
