completely overboard, whats next u cant have ur car painted a certain colour because it might reflect the sun too much?

Dan, at the large/huge roundabout at Jesmond on Newcastle Rd they have installed these cameras last June. I know, because I had to help do the electricals on them. (No i don't work for the Road Tragedy Authority.)

Spoke to the RTA engineer at the time about what they are used for. He said they activate at a set range of frequency and sound level. What they are trying to do at that site is pick up the noise of locking brakes and bashing panels. The video doesn't work at any other time.

He also mentioned something interesting too. There were on two separate occassions whilst he was there doing his work, elderly drivers who turned right (following the arrow) into the path of the eastbound only section of the roundabout. Instead of going right around! Obviously confused by the sheer size of the roundy! Bloody hell. Talk about dangerous!
