Thumbs down Injectors

Can someone please tell me if the injectors of an au xr6 are the same as an au series 1 will they fit ok? I have a leaking injector and thought that would be the cause of all my carbon probs and shite fuel economy,I have been quoted $230 on a brand new set but have managed to find a reco set of a au xr6 for $130,and how easy is it to install them?
Thanks

The injectors on the XR6 are the same as the non-XR6 injectors, so they should be fine.

Cant help you on install tips, sorry.

You have `to remove the rail bolts to free the injectors. 10mm I think there are six. Then with a rag covering the injectors just pull it back enough to free them. Hopefully the rag will stop the pressurised fuel from splashing everywhere. Then remove electrical connector steel clip and remove the wires. Then you must remove the injector retaining clip.
Be sure to have some new o rings in case you find a split one.To reinstall use a little vaseline on the rubber o rings and slide them back onto the injector then back into rail etc.The rest is just a reversal of the above steps.

You could also de-pressurise the fuel system first, by removing the relay for your fuel pump (under the hood) and cranking your car over.
