Default Vibration help.

Today I was working on my car and decided on a little music, but once I had turn the volume up to about 15 the rear right speaker started to make a noise.

I think I've sourced the problem which it seems to be the mesh that sits over the speaker that is vibrating because when you put your hand on the speaker it's fine. Is there anyway I can tighten the mesh to stop it from the vibrating as it is quite annoying?

Cheers,
Chris

You could unbolt the mesh and place foam around the edge of it, thats if it unbolts

The mesh just clips in - it could be loose. It could also be the speaker element has separated from the metal casing - it happened to my parents AU. Buy a set of 5x7s and replace the fronts, and put the fronts in the back.

I'll have a look this arvo when I get home and see what I can find. Also I'm guessing you have to take off the interior of the front doors to access the speakers?

That be correct, Phillips head screwdriver and a 10mm socket i think to undo the screws with the special Ford heads that hold the speakers in too. Good luck

1mm closed cell self adhesive rubber speaker gaskets.
Or the eqivalent in roll form, usually in 1-3 mtr roll lengths.

You should be able to get them from any reputable car audio retailer, maybe even supercheap or repco.

They work a treat, just pick your speaker size, trim out to suit, and apply-then refit your grills.

If you can get them here in NZ,they must be in Oz as well.
Failing that, you could get flat sheet of the same and just cut out your own.
