EF/EL door Knobs

what up guys.... Anyone can help me re the door knobs on an EF EL.

I've changed speakers in the front doors, and when i put the door knobs back on they dont go down flush with the door anymore, and when unlocked they sit a little higher than originally.

I've tried all sorts of **** but cant seem to get it, with the door closes/locked/unlocked. I was considering using force but that got me nowhere last time i tried....

Any help appreciated...
