When Suid Afrika was treating their people wrongly the world imposed sanctions, the same treatment should apply to the government of Rhodesia.

Tis a funny world when the global community cannot present a unified front to combat the sort of regime currently engulfing every aspect of life and death in Zimbabwe, but we think it is a great step forward to stop a couple of people heading over with a bat and a ball to have a few games with people who share the same enthusiasm for a sport.

Cricket Australia should not have to be the face of the government's (and those of all the powers in the world) inability to effect any real change at this point in time.

If the government is making the decision for them, it is better than leaving the decision to Cricket Aus. I suppose in the last few weeks the issue has had more coverage in Australian media, and that can only be a good thing.

I strongly dissagree with the governments offer to pay any fine for the team not going.
Tax dollars are not their personal slush fund to spend on sporting fines, because of any political reason that suits them.
Other than that I dont really care,Im not a cricket fan,so it dont affect me if they go or not.

well they dont incur fines if its cancelled for either player safety fears, or government putting a stop to it, cos thats out of cricket australia's hands,

but I do agree that if it were the case why should we pay for it out of our tax money, but they needs to be a foot put down about mugabe!

I agree. There shouldn't be a fine for not going to a country for reasons such as this.
NOW...This is one of the most painful things I will post, but, I actually commend little Johnny for standing up and taking this hard decision out of CA hands.
I do wonder tho, if he would have stepped up if it was another sporting code facing a Zimbabwean tour....

Dont care about zimbabwe or what they do,its their country and they can do what they like, who are we to tell them how to run their place?
Im sure if some country started telling us what to do we'd be frothing at the mouth baying for blood.
I just dont agree with any money at all for cricket or any sport when there is so much stuff that could actually make peoples lives better,or even save peoples lives that needs funding.

We don't have atrocious human rights violations for starters. Bulldozing houses with people still inside, is this the sort of thing you think we should be supporting?? I'm thankful people didn't think the same way when the Nazi's rolled into Poland.

Don't put words in ppl's mouth BarraXR8.

We should fight any oppression of the oppressed white minority in Zimbabwe!!!

If you don't agree with the above statement then it would be hypocritical to fight for black oppressed minorities.
