Default radiator overflow problem

Gday all, again
on the weekend i did a radiator flush and refil in my 95 futura.
this afternoon i checked the reservoir and it was ok.
at the petrol station after 45 min driving i saw cooland all over the ground, i hoped it wasnt from my car.
when i got home i checked it after 30 min and it was totally dry in the overflow reservoir and coolant was all under the overfow.
can anyone tell me what is going on?
i drive 3hrs round trip a day to work so im getting worried

Air lock. You have to follow the refill procedure along the following lines (instructions along these lines should also be on a sticker on or near your plastic overflow tank).

1. Park car on up hill slope if possible so the car's nose is slightly high if possible (so air is encouraged to front of cooling system).
2. Remove thermostat upper housing and thermostat and fill at thermostat housing until full to top of housing.
3. Replace thermostat and thermostat housing.
4. Fill balance of system.
5. Run engine in park with radiator cap off or loosely fitted and heater on high until at normal operating temperature .
6. Screw on radiator cap and allow to cool.
7. When cold top up radiator.

If you don't follow this procedure when refilling the air at the top of the head and other parts higher than the top of the radiator cannot escape causing the symptoms you are having. You will need to start from step 1 above again.
