Default Polishing LS Zetec Rims

What does everyone use to get some extra shine from the alloys?

Ummm...I've heard of people using Candle Wax and a Micro Fibre cloth...
I just use warm Water, a cloth and some Spray on Wheel Cleaner from Polyglaze.

I use a product called DP Wheel Glaze which I find reasonably good.

Raymon81 has literally had his alloys "polished" ie protective coating removed and the bare metal shined to a high gloss. They look great but are high maintenance

IMHO, the best way to make wheels look great is remove them and clean them inside and out. Usually use soap and water then protect and polish with Wheel Glaze

With most rims being clear coated, extra shine is not like old school where we break out the extra elbow grease, these days very clean is the best start by using some wash as suggested, once this has been done you may if you want clay the rims, apply paint cleaner, some scratchx if a little marked with fine swirls and apply polish as also suggested, all of these things will help keep them in top order.

You may also strip the clear as suggested but then yes you going back to old school, but can be done and look good with the extra work.

I've had my wheels polished (cost around $400) and now got them clear coated ($40 a wheel). Like melbzetec said, if u get the wheels polished, they are very high maintenance and need to be polished every now and then. Since i got the clear coat, ive lost a little bit of the shine but it saves me $$$$ from polishing them all the time.

LOL, on the contrary. A sicko (to me) is a depraved, perverted individual. Someone who likes DP up the shitter for example would fit that description

I shy away from those pressure pack spray on wash off cleaners as I suspect they are chemically agressive and end up dulling the standard finish.

So it's roll up the sleeves and use warm soapy water with a brush and rag.

I wonder if there's a cleaner brake pad compound we can use?? Anyone found a suitable pad?

Paper towel. That's it

Been keeping them clean since day one and they maintain their shine with nothing more than a weekly wipe with paper towel. Amazing but true and still factory fresh.

soap, microfibre cloth, dry em off, and polish with another mirco cloth, thats all i have ever done. I think the real key is too keep em clean all the time or you get that build up of brake dust thats a ***** to clean off

I haven't used it personally, but some people rave on about FW1

http://www.fw1.com.au/

You can use it on all parts of the paint, wheels or windows. It has a clear dry silicon glaze.
