Thanx for the well wishes peoples (yes I WAS looking to slip this one by under the radar on the quiet).
I did get another lens today - shame I had to pay for the bugger myself - tis the replacement 70-200 f2.8L IS that was stolen just over a week back. Will be taking it out to do the shots tonight that I didn't get done last week due to the theft - WITH a rather vigilant assistant later on this evening.
