Hey everybody need a hand with my RS2000.
Allrite well i bought it not too long ago and obviously coz its such and old car it needed some work. As it is a rare car, parts are hard to get your hands on. One of the things that needs replacing is the whole front right suspension strut. Do i need to "somehow" get a another one, get a different setup altogether for the front or are there some interchangeable parts...like from a cortina? Help is much appreciated |

Is it the actual strut bent or something? Repco wont have a strut. They will have srings, shockies etc though.

Yes it is the actual strut that is bent. The thing is bent down the bottom so the camber of the wheel looks like a V8 supercar setup lol. I knew that repco had all that but like aussie escort said i don't think they will have a strut. Isthere any simple, hopefully cheap alternatives for the time being? or would i have to spend a large sum of money?
thanks |

Just try and get a set of 2.0L struts (could be fun though) or capri (even more fun & more $$$). Cortina struts will need some machining done and any other struts that will fit are taking a step backwards eg, 1.6 struts. Try some wreckers!

1.6 struts are smaller than the 2 litre struts and i dont think they bolt straight on (someone else can clarify that). dont waste your time with them, get a pair of 2 litre struts. any old carill require time and money to be spent on them. once you get the handling sorted, you wont have more fun in a car.

The 2lt struts are are stronger but are more expensive so it depends on how much $$ you want to spend. |
