hey everyone

after waiting for awhile to find a decent car, i finally got an EB II wagon on monday.

ill post more pics up when i can actually take some decent ones.

i payed just on $3000 for her. Done 250,000 kms but still very strong and so damn tidy on the inside.

still gotta get a few things sorted out with it and my first mod will be an alarm (2 cars stolen in a week from my street and my colt was nearly broken into as well) what is a good alarm but aint realy gonna cost an arm and a leg?

cheers
dan

Good alarms can be had from $300 installed.

Clean looking wagon there mate. Not sure if your looking to mod it straight away but heres my list (not that anyone gives 2 rats *****)

1) Clear front indicators
2) EL tail lights
3) Tint
4) superlow fronts/lowering blocks

Welcome to the club dan, looks like a very clean wagon you have there.
By the way, your first mod (the alarm), is a very smart one

Yep i second that, it's probably the best thing you could do first up! After that though, i think Walkinshaw is on the money with that list of mods ;) A set of wheels maybe and you'll be cruising in style

Nice car by the way!

Yeah I agree with this list only spend a bit extra and get your leaf springs reset to superlow height instead... lowering blocks are a bit dodgy because they push the diff up... it caused me to break engine mounts. But they were ok when my was still auto... it was only when i changed to manual this happened and it caused it to axle tramp... but yeah lowered leafs are the way to go anyway

Welcome to the forums!

That's a very tidy wagon you've got there, you've made a good purchase. An alarm is an excellent idea for a first mod! I thought that since it's an EBII it'd have Smartlock (& hence an alarm)?

Get some E-Series stickers for those rear 1/4 windows : (I should get some for my rear doors myself)

I'd keep the amber indicators though but that's just me

That is a great looking wagon. It looks like it's been well looked after. The red stripe (s/xr style) in the side mouldings sure beats the standard white GLi ones. An alarm is a good idea. The cost to install it is nothing compared to having your car stolen and having it destroyed (as is often the case). Enjoy some good drives in the wagon.

I'm sure Smartlock doesn't incorporate an alarm. The basics of smartlock is that the ignition system (and door locks?) use a rolling code or something along those lines. It also has a flashing red light in the instrument panel that is more a deterrent than anything. My parents have an EBII wagon and it sure doesn't have an alarm.

thanks for all the replies. There are a few little scratches on it but they arent really noticable. i still have a fair bit of money saved and from my loan to spend on it. i want to get it running really well and have it lookin great before anything else is done (need to get the smartlock remote working). the rideheight will change as its embarrassing having it next to my dad's EB XR6 lol.

clear indicators will be done as soon as i can get some.

tinting is a must as its parked in the sun most of the day when im at work. then some new wheels and so forth.........

cheers
dan

Sounds like a plan but i would also maybe remove the red stripe and colour code the door handles etc, will look the goods.

Well, I probably should have clarified my definition of "alarm". I mean when the horn goes bezerk (BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!), rather than a piezo siren destroying the eardrums of every organism within 3km... For if someone tries to start the car when it's still locked, etc.
