My mate bought an EA

Put it on gas. With the $2000 rebate, it would be worth it

One thing to bear in mind with doing the gas convo and getting the rebate is that your mate won't be able to claim the rebate again for another 3 years. So he has to be sure that he's happy to keep that car for 3 years.

the rebate is valid untill 2014. but you have to take the car over the pits withing 2 weeks of conversion to apply for rebate. in wa the state governments provides an extra $1000 rebate, so $3000 total, but because of that gas conversions are more expensive in W.A. $3300 approx, and about $4500 for vapour injection systems, which arent suitable for fords anyway.
