Default My cortina progress and questions thread.

Hi all.
I know i've been flooding this section with pics and questions about my new cortina out of excitement so I thought I'd just have the one thread where I can ask questions and tell of my progress

So any way..

This is my car.

It's t5 with a mild xf 250 carby motor.

since I've had it (almost 2 weeks)

I've put some goodrich tyres on it v5's or somthing like that, 205/50r15 for the front and 205/55's for the back

Also put king springs all round and raised the car 1" because it was just too low.

I've done a service and did the timing today it was out by 8 degrees lol, it's going wayyy better now alot more go than my xd.

Got a few questions to start with.

My speedo is out a fair bit it reads 85k's or so when doing 100. not sure how to calibrate that.

My tacho isn't wired up, they're ghia gauges I beleive, just wondering if the tacho will wire up fine to the xf motor.

theyres either screws from the top down (means taking out back window)

or nuts underneath so put your hand up thru the boot and behind the back seat.. and feel around.

i got 2 parcel shelves in the shed... but they have screws in them.. so means taking out rear window that way...

Thanks.
I'm thinking about getting black inserts on the seats next. the middle of the seats kept origanal but the sides black.

And a dark blue fiberglass face plate on the center console and a blue boot over the shifter.

door trims black as well with blue inserts.

But they're just random ideas in my head.

Thanks mate.
I'm still chasing a road worthy I've just been doing other things while it's being booked into places.

All that's left on the road worthy are two spots of rust, the car is pretty rust free apart from these two spots....

Booked in for the 6th of august going to be all cut out and color matched.
$300 to get it done..
Not a bad price me thinks.

There is no rust under the car what is good.

Put a steering wheel on today..

Dunno if I did it right as the boss kit made it about 40mm closer to the driver.
