Is it based on Jeff Waynes version? I grew up listening to that on tape on overnight family trips from Sydney to Melbourne (Dad refused to drive during the day) in between repeated doses of Boney M and ELO.

To those who are going, I officially hate you.

Its so unfair its not coming to Adelaide, and unfortunately my financial situation doesn't allow me to travel at this stage to see it. I guess I'll just have to buy the DVD version.

I'm a huge fan, I love the book, the 1938 Orson Welles radio broadcast, and the Jeff Wayne version. I would LOVE to see this as it is one of my favourite stories of all time and to see the musical live would be amazing.

So although I may hate you for being able to go, enjoy it for me, because it WILL be bloody awesome.

Ah, lifes funny you know?

15 years ago i dug up an old vinyl record of the original Jeff Wayne production of W.O.T.W. Everyone who saw it on my record player though i was a lunatic. 8 years ago i was trolling through one of the clearance cd stalls in town and found a cd of that LP. For years i would listen to that in may car on long runs.

Its funny because all those mates who called me a freak back then for listening to such "abstract" music are now into W.O.T.W because of the recent resurgence through the Tom Cruise movie and the remake of the musical.

Ah well......

I've had the double CD in my car for years. And owned it since I was 21. So I've been hooked on WOTW for 15 years too.
