Hi all,
This morning on my way to school, someone turned right into a street and didn't see me coming and connected leaving my EB crippled. I don't really want to let the car go, but soon enough the panel beaters will leave me with a quote and will from there determine if it will see the road again. If it doesn't i will be parting the car out depending on the expression of interest i receive from people on here. -The motor has a genuine 149XXXkm -LSD (not sure of gears, but pretty sure its the same as what is found in the fairmont ghia and fairlane) -Full fairmont trim in very good condition -Electric windows are in reasonable order -It has a full impco gas system which was installed bout a year ago There are also a fair few other things which i can't think of at the moment as i am still a bit shaken up from it. But if its not to get repaired, i will be parting it out if there is enough interest. |

If they hit you isn't it their fault meaning they have to pay for the repairs?

Regardless of who is paying, if the quote is to high, it will be a write-off.

Look, there are a few fine details which I am not going to bring up. For some reason I have a bad feeling even though it was not my fault, insurance will pay me a sum of the car and give it to me to do what i wish with it cause for some reason it has come out the car is worth more than what it is covered for.
Now I just want to see if there are people interested in parts just incase the car comes back to me. This car owes me a fair few g, and i already know i have totally lost out. But I am thinking I will try recover a small portion of it to put towards purchasing something else. So please if you have no interest in parts don't comment. I will inform everyone here in the next couple of days on whether it will be stripped or fixed. Thank you |

Why not buy another and swap all the best bits across.

This is the aftermath which is not looking good in my favor at the moment And I was going to make it look like the first photo the coming weekend. I'm still shocked with what has happend. |

Sorry to say but that looks like a definate write-off. The radiator support is bent (as is the whole area around the front left wheel arch) and the chassis rail would be bent too.
Shame, because it was a tidy looking car.

What are the possibilities that if fixed, the front wheels wont line up correctly again from the impact? Can this happen from a hard hit?

Then the body/chasis rail/radiator support is repaired, and once again the car is computer checked for straightness. if you get the repairs done through his insurance company, get it done right. Although, you might have to annoy them in order to get the car repaired and not just written off. E-series are being written off a lot more these days..
