Brake pads for the AU?

Hey All,

Just getting brakes done shortly, can anyone recommend some reasonable pads?

Was thinking either EBC Greenstuffs, or Bendix of some description, but I'd appreciate any advice.

greenstuff and bendix ultamites are good but produce a lot of dust. Whats the need for the brake upgrades anyway?

Bendix UP (Ultra performance) pads are great - somewhere between advance and ultimates in the bendix range.

Actually, the UP might stand for Ultra Premium.

Bendix Performer.. or Ferodo Formula/GP2..

Aslong as it stops the car fairly well you cant complain.. Havnt really noticed alot with pads to be honest, just the amount of dust from each.

Bummer about the dust, I really can't be stuffed cleaning wheels, so the less dust the better.

So, so far we've got:
EBC Greens - good but lots of dust
Bendix Ultimates - good but lots of dust, and chew rotors
Bendix UP - good, in between Ultimates and Advance
Ferodos -

I run Bendix CTs in the work ute ... they are the Ceramic Technology pads.
Not that high up in the range ... but work a charm when loaded up and in stop/start.
Also cops well with towing.

I run slotted rotors as well ... and so far I have managed 50,000km with no problems at all. Little dust.

They aren't performance pads ... but they have pulled the ute up many a time loaded up ... and safely.

The reason mine have lasted though is I don't abuse brakes (as I used to drive a manual I am used to conserving brakes).

Well ive hard pretty bad experience with Bendix generally, though advanced seem OK.

Running Ferodo formula's at the moment and they are quite nice, they dont have that bite and are dusty, but are uncookable. Running DBA 4000 slotted rotors.

Greenstuff also chew the discs, with them or ultimates you'll need to machine you're discs everytime you replace the pads

^^^^^^what does that last sentence mean ?

To the thread starter I presume you have an I6 ?
Don't need Greenstuff
Don't need Ferodo Formula
Don't need Ultimates
Are you intending doing track work, or do you brake very late and drive spiritedly ?
High temp pads as above chews rotors,dust galore and worse don't pull up well at low temp speeds.

As stated BendixGCT's are a good street pad for your requirements.

Hahahahaha ... OK ... I admit it ... i am getting old.
I just don't ride my brakes that much ... I prefer engine braking more than anything.
And the good thing about the CT's ... clean wheels ... and a long lasting pad as well.
Very good on the street for my application.

Bluedriver, yep I6 and no track work or particularly spirited driving, so sounds like the Bendix CT's are the best option.
