Default Buying a new car

Well I am finally moving up to the Gold Coast from Melbourne and will be looking at getting a new car at the start of next year and giving the LS zetec to the wife as she will not have a car. I cant make up my mind and wanted to hear what you people would choose out of the following 3 models that I am contemplating.

They are :

Mazda 3 MPS
Ford XR5
2007 Subaru WRX

I am liking the idea of the Mazda but I really have a soft spot for the WRX but they are now so common that it is turning me of a bit. The XR5 I like but there is just somthing about it that does not woo me as much as the other 2 but I will still consider it.

So which one would you buy and why??????

hope your zetec's still going well,
You've got a hard choice there, all are good cars, personally i would go a XR5 all day,but it depends on what you want in the car. i like refinement and handling, I drove the MPS and while it was very quick something about it felt cheap compared to the Focus.

XR5 stock has freed up a bit so there is a few around and i know that my old dealership has been advertising them cheap.

In last few weeks i was seriously considering this XR5 as it was such good value.

Instead i decided on it little brother.

We have the current shape WRX (2006) and can't fault it. A big improvemnet on our 2000 model. Heaps more torque down low. This being a Ford Forum though I do like the XR5. They are only 2 wheel drive aren't they??
There is a new rexi coming out soon. Not sure if I like it yet or not......

If your budget can cope, I'd go a WRX Sti.

Or the Liberty GT. Less bogan.

The MPS is supposed to be a bit of a torque steering pig, and the WRX has a particular perception about it.

My choice would be XR5.
The Mazda has a more refined look, but choice of colours is limited (especially for queensland)

The WRX does have the AWD which is important advantage.

If it was between the Mazda and Subaru, I'd probably go the Subaru, with most of the badges stripped off so I didn't look like a complete "backwards baseball cap" moron

Me I would go the XR5 - I have an old VHS tape of group B rally cars and the sound of a screaming 5 cylinder engine scares me just thinking about it... I like be scared.. It's a wonderful sound.

oh yeah I believe the rest of the car is ok too.

Good call Piotr. I would take the EVO.....

The only problem is they stand out like dogs balls, particularly red!! Although they are slightly better looking than a dogs nuts.....
