Hey all, me and a couple of mates are planning on going away at the end of December and over New Years Eve, were going to road trip up to N.S.W, we have looked at a few places and were thinking Merrimbula or Batemans Bay, Just wanting peoples opinions on these or nearby locations.
Keeping in mind that we are all 18 and want to find somewere with heaps of people our age, going nuts, any suggestions or experiences, cheers

Batemans Bay is bloody busy mate around that time for such a small place. Half of Canberra heads down there. I'm staying away this year!
Lots of kids and families too and half the females are like 13 tarted up to look 18  :

I went on a weekend road trip with friends to Batemans Bay and we had a great time, but it wasn't during peak season.
I found it more lively than Merimbula.

good to see a few opinions, we have been talking about this alot and we have also come up with Byron Bay, apparently that will be better than the rest??? only problem is trying to find acommidation

Yeah Batemans Bay can get quite busy actually. I found Merimbula to be sleepy little town ... even during peak season.

Depends what you're looking for I suppose. If you just want a quiet New Years or you want to party.

Were going to go through the RACV and try and book something in Byron Bay, if anythings left, everyone i talk to says it goes off over new years.
