Thumbs up Visit to a Chrysler Dealer

I went to a Chrysler dealer today, out of interest. The cars Chrysler/Dodge are offering are very different to Holden/Ford.
Avenger/Sebring, Caliber/Nitro, PT Cruisers, 300C's, SRT and the Jeep range.
It shows what can be done with imagination. Ford/Holden are stuck in a rut. If the MONDEO wasn't coming, I would seriously consider the Sebring. That is value for money. $38500 drive away for the Sebring Limited. The gear in that car at that price is amazing. The V6 is coming next year.
Most impressed with Chrysler's cars.
Ford/Holden be bold get out of the rut !!!!

Saw one advertised yesterday, think it was the avenger. Very very nice looking car! They certainly aren't afraid to step outside of convention.

have to agree , my cousin turned up in a chrysler voyager a little while ago (i think it looks like a tarago) it was very well equipped for the $$.

The reviews for the Avenger/Sebring have been very mediocre.

The interiors on Chrysler group vehicles are generally very poor. The Falcon/Commodore interiors are superior to even the Chrysler 300C.

Everyone bags the aussie built cars build quality but it is still worlds ahead of the US. The main thing American cars have going for them is their looks. Whether you think they look good or fugly they definitely stand out!

Note that not all Chrysler models in Australia come from the US. I know that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is made in Austria.

I actually find the Grand Cherokee to be enjoyable to drive, but dislike it's long braking distances and poor crash safety (see Euroncap). For the money, I would take a Territory.

Theres only two Dodges I want, And I cant have them. Chrysler just dont have anything that really interests me more than other marques atm. And Jeep..... no comment.

But I do agree that Ford AU and Holden Could make something different. But I dont necessarily agree they should. Orion will blow these away anyway I reckon.

I disagree - if it is true, then why are GM & Ford losing sales to Toyota and import brands. Aussie buyers want the Epica? V8 Falcons? I love V8 Falcons, but if Ford reports less than 10 sales a month, then that is clearly NOT what Aussie buyers want.

I don't understand you logic....

So Ford and Holden are losing sales because Toyota has better styling

The 10 V8 sales a month were only the 3v V8 sales and the sales were being lost to Holden as they offer their SS V8 across the range and trumps the 3v by 40 kilowatts.

The Dodges are pretty but so far the range is style over substance....god i wish they bring the challenger

Chrysler obviously spend so much money making their cars look different they skimp on getting the driving dynamics and interior plastics quality right.

Chrysler is in this rut as well. They're losing money and are going to be sold off by Daimler Benz.

Cerberus, a private equity firm, bought 80.1% of Chrysler. They have hired a senior executive from Toyota (Jim Press, the President of Toyota North America) and are hiring more executives from other automakers.

In 2006:"Holden sold 146,511 vehicles and delivered a 15.2% market share. Holden had the second highest sales overall, behind Toyota with 213,847 sales and 22.2% market share, but well ahead of Ford with 114,965 sales and 11.9% market share. " (FCAI data for 2006).

It was a statement about imaginative styling, nothing to do with market share or Toyota, the sales figures are posted every month, we all know who stands where.
