Default Falcon preimum sound offer

Hi guys,

I know Ford has been offering 18" alloys, DSC, ZF-6spd box and premium sound for $39k or something around that mark. I tried searching the forums and the Ford site but couldnt find it.

I was told by a friend that you dont get a similar package on the manual. Is this true if I got the 6spd manual will i miss out on these 'free' goodies? Do I have to get the "XR luxury interior package" and still miss out on DSC and 18" alloys?

I am looking to go on a novated lease adn thinking about getting one early October!

Thanks guys.

Here's the deal and it appears that it's for the auto only, going by the small print down the bottom.

To be honest, the premo sound is not all that great. The best sound comes from under the buldge!!! :

Yes the colour screen is the highlight of the premo sound. I was going to upgrade the sound system, but since the car will no longer be mine come chrissy time I wont bother. Probably the weakest part of the premo sound is the sub. It is almost useless.

True. But don't you need premium sound to have the option to add an AUX jack to plug into an mp3 player, or does that also come with standard sound these days?

I think it comes (the ability to install one) with the standard sound as well, but I'm not 100% sure about that. I put a ipod preamp aux input myself. It works well.

BA mk1 with standard sound, I put the aux plug in the XR. It actually taps off the mobile phone hands free Jack near the fuse box.

It's not just premo sound upgrade. (I assume you have the same upgrade I have which is the bigger colour screen and 6 stacker, apologies if I assume wrong). It's an ICC upgrade which just gives you the Fairmont Ghia centre console that includes things like Climate Control etc...

The new XR6 is a 6sp Auto with the Fairmont Ghia ICC (Climate air, premium sound etc), 18" Wheels, DSC and all for $39,990 - and it's not a promo, it's new standard price. Great IMO.

FYI the new XR8 price is $45,490 (XR6T is $1k cheaper) and includes climate control w/ above Premium ICC (and all the other stuff as standard anyway, 6sp Auto, 18" Wheels, DSC)

Of course, this all happened back in July, but now Ford are advertising it a bit more.

But basically, looking at the $ change with changes in standard equipiment etc, XR6 6sp Auto ($39,990) is $6025 better value now, the XR6T 6sp Auto ($44,490) is $4955 better value now and the XR8 6Sp Auto ($45,490) is $3,355 better value now.

And that is all RRP remember ;)

Good to know that the standard can take an AUX plug too. I *absolutely must* have my mp3 player in my car so that wouldn't be a limiting factor next time I'm out car shopping.
