Default 98 Festiva Fuel Gauge

Hey guys,

I searched but couldnt find anything, so sorry if its been answered already.

A friend of mine bought a 1998 festiva trio the other day and the fuel gauge doesnt work.

Would it be the fuel sender? Dodgy dash? Is this a common problem on festivas?

Also the key wont unlock the drivers side door. Simple matter of getting a new lock fitted? Can I just get one from a wrecker?

Any help is appreciated,

Again, apologies if this has been covered before.

Thanks,

Ryan

Cant really help you with the fuel gauge, but if you run a few tests with your multimeter you should be able find out whether it is a dodge fuel sender or gauge. fuel senders work with resistance, so checking what sort of resistance/ohm's your sender is reading would be a good start.

as for the door lock, you can not get another lock of another car, neither can you purchase one of ford spare parts as you would have to change all of your door locks/bootlocks and even ingnition barrel. Sometimes if the lock is not badly damaged it is repairable.

hope that helps
