my dad told me truck drivers know where they are usually. i presume because they get on their 2 way radios and warn eachother. so if they are speeding they dont know of cops in the area. Also council trucks, etc. are a bad indication because they are paid by the hour so just drive slow as hell.

I used to be a courier for over 10 years,
so we always get the latest report once a month from the highway patrol where all the speed cameras and speed traps are. Now i just drive slow when i go pass those areas that i still remember. |

Most people who check the front page of the daily newspaper, shows all the speed camera locations for the day...Or watch 7 news each night...

You speed ya take ya chances mate, I haven't had a speeding fine in the 6 years and close to 200,000km that I have had my license. If ya want to speed everywhere you will Loose it quickly thou. I do my fair amount of driving above the speed limit, but most of it is on outback HWY's, around the metro aria I try and stay within 5km/h of the limit, but over sheer repetition of driving the same roads you know where the cameras are going to be allot of the time and if you use your eyes you can spot em allot of the time or guess they are there just be looking at the cars in front of you.
Tip, if ya want to be the car out the front all the time you will get pinged, I like to let the heroes motor on ahead. On the free way the other week, not much traffic so was doing 115 had 4 cars in front of me probably doing close to 120 or so, cop behind the tree pulls all the ones up ahead of me over and by the time he points the gun at me i am doing 90km/h and drive on by.

most council trucks are flat out to do 90kmh unless its down a hill. i have a uhf radio in the ute and listen to the truckies on the highway, you are right in that they keep each other updated on whats happening on the road ahead, (flash- for- cash, slow cars, break-downs, stray stock, etc) . its helps everyone have a safe trip if you know what to expect around the next corner.

My father-in-law is a taxi driver (in Europe) and he is always updated (through their terminals or radios) on the new speeding detectors (either fixed cameras or hand held radars). He speeds a lot (too much in my opinion) but newer gets caught.
Me..... I really try no to speed but usually I just "go with the flow".... no tickets yet
