In car it is fairly clear and @5PSI it is more of a rasp than a whine. The KB units start off very quite, but as they run in they do start to make more music. I think it is actually underdriven spinning around 4500RPM when the motor is up at 6K+. Max rating is around 18,000RPM :

Well, had an interesting discussion today and I desperately trying to find a way to be the first 290 in WA to run this kit. I have been drooling for a while and planned it for next year. Now I think it will be great to have it on at Summernats 08. Wish me luck, I wont be talking about it until its a done deal. Its not a definate but I pray
