hey all my left frount headlight is not working and iv been trying to get the fu##ing globe out how the fu## do i do it ,,,and yes im ****ed off with myself ,,,,, :togo:

theres a wire that goes over the clip , and it hooks across the globe again , Are you in Victoria /

There is a knack to it. at least its not the other. even harder to change with the battery in front. keep trying

It's even worse to put the new one in. You cannot see what you are doing and have to go by feel, and know where that spring clip attaches.
If you are going mad trying to remove it, you will be totally insane by the time you get the new one in. A great test of patience. |

Well what bit exactly are you having trouble with? There are a couple of difficulties.
Firstlt, push the rubber boot towards the light body (front of car) as hard as you can using thumb and middle finger - while, at the same time squeezing on the sides of the connector with said thumb and middle finger- then pull the connector straight back away from the light body. You have to keep pushing and squeezing until the connector is released - it takes a lot of pressure and I have known many people who simply don't have the strength in their fingers to accomplish the job. The release points that you are attempting to squeeze together are in the horizontal plane ie. on each side of the connector as opposed to the top and bottom. You then remove the rubber boot - easy bit! The second difficulty then, is releasing the spring clip that holds the globe in place - you need to get your head in there and use a torch to actually see how the clip is arranged - as has been said it is a cow but once you see the lock tab you will see how it releases. The knack is to push "in" and then "sideways". Re-fitting is just the reverse. |
