Hi, I have a 2000 AU, and would like to know what type of trans it has.
The spec. plate (engine bay) shows "W" for trans code, which matches the description in the Tech. Resource section: 4 speed auto, floor shift. It doesn't have a dip stick, so I'm guessing BTR, but not sure of the model. Any help would be appreciated. |

yep its BTR 4 Speed , no dipstick was put on these as ford had many warranty claims from People Servicing them by themself and damaging the Box by overflowing the oil ...
Theres a Fill Hole on the Drivers side of the Box , After you have Taken the Pan off , Drained all oil , and Replaced the filter and the Pan , Fill the Oil until it dribbles out of the hole. Fords BTR Trans Does not use Dexron III , Instead it uses 95le , I think it has a Higher Operating Temp and has less Viscosity... Hope this helps .. Daniel
