I've heard that they are included in the 265 and were renumbered in the last 10 of the Australian 250, to back this up I've seen #004 and it was not a P car, but I could be wrong. As mentioned elsewhere Ford's records can be a tad inconclusive at times.

Now thats very intresting, I was told from Tickford that,[who knew my car very well as it was there car] the 10 "P" cars were the first, & the production numbering started from "011"
My GT was GTP010, on the build plate under the bonnet, that meaning EBGT number P"10"
I have seen "P004" but never "004"
I'll have a dig around & find all the papers/letters I got with the car & see if that sheds a bit of light in the subject. _2:

Like I said I could be wrong, everyone has a different version of what happened. I saw 004 in the car paek at the Nationals in Ballarat. From memory (I do have a pic somewhere) it had vic plates FA* - *** so it was registered was early in the production life of the GT's. Mine origanally carried plates that started with FCN and mines #064, so it seems about right. I've also heard that they kept the P cars for press duties after they had begun production and then sold them off at the end.

All is here say with no proof so if you have some please share. It would be good to know what happened.

I'm off to club meeting tonight so I will ask around there for more info.

Cheers,

Scott.

All "P" cars were rego_ FAK-### so I would say it was P004, & from memory it is a black auto, would that be right??

Rego was FAI so the plot thickens!

Black & manual, I need to get a life as I'm starting to record the ones I come across.

Unhappy

Ok here we go, this is what I know as far as I know.
FAK-150. red auto, P10. [mine]
FAK-224, red manual, P09.
FAK-*** red manual P02.
FAK-056, Black auto P06.
FAK-*** Blue manual P04.
EBGTEE red manual P03.
***-*** Blue manual P05
***-*** black auto P03
There was a Black Melbourne motor show mockup car, but I dont think it was one of the numbered "P" car, as for the other car I dont know what or were it is.
So thats what I know or can remember about the "P" cars, I hope someone can fill in the gaps, as these car are very special cars that should be preserved in Tickford history. This may through a little light on the "P" cars.

PS if I had my time over I would never have sold EBGT P010.. :( If anyone knows were it is tell the owner he has a very unique car.
