What mods are required to the head/bottom end? ie porting, lower compression pistons etc.

I have read that it could be laggy on a 1.8 ltr but have been told a 2ltr would be alright. I wasn't to worryed about lag issues cause i have big valves road/rally cam 25/75. bored 60 thou. The only limit would be how much the 350 holley could flow. I wanted to get around 180hp at the wheels. I have only got standard bottom end.

Here's some info:
"Mazda and Hitachi jointly developed the HT18S-2S Twin Scroll turbocharger for the 13B Turbo. This new turbocharger was designed to have virtually no " turbo lag " by having a flap that varies ( vacuum operated @ above 2500rpm ) depending on the load that opens wider during heavy load to have greater throuput and torque band. The turbo had two exhaust intakes into the turbine, the turbo acted as two turbos, by having both of advantages of small and big turbos, giving fast low end torque response and high end power. The turbine side was water cooled where the main body was cooled by a dual-ski heat shield."

For the compression i was going to use a decompresson plate. I think a mild cam or even better still a high lift low duration cam would be good.. I never drove the car with this setup which makes it hard to say..

Sounds interesting.
I have a worked head on my pinto currently, which goes alright, but a turbo would set it off nicely. The bottom end is standard but has been balanced and bluprinted.
Would you be ok with freighting it to Melbourne? If so, I'll probably wack a bid on.

Yeah i reckon it would need a cam and a modified head to work at its best.. When they are on the 13B they hi-flow them and they get anything up 400hp!!

Freight to melbourne should around the $50 mark..

The flange is a lot different to garrett type flanges. but could very easily be changed. if your driving in traffic a small t3 garrett would be sweet. if you want to go stock 2ltr just find a de-comp spacer plate with too head gaskets. and use a small turbo with low boost around 7-9psi. The top compression ring landing on the standard piston seems to collaps with to much boost.

your brake situation sounds a little tricky...
