great idea while your at it strip all that horrible plastic off the leads and just insulate it with a conductor sorry but who ever told you that is a dill. did he also tell you the best way to put out a fire is to drown it with petrol? just might go down as the stupidist comment of the year ( not you blackers10 but the guy who told you )

Maybe he thought the Faraday effect from having the leads completely wrapped would cancel out the conductivity of the alfoil... LMFNAO.

My engine ran fine with the pipe on there and afterall it was on the car for almost two years.
Only thing that made my VCT miss was when i had the J3 chip installed : anyhow hope you find out what the problem is soon Blackers.

the alfoil was to insulate from the heat that the tube soaks up

i havnt got around to doin the dark time arc search

2 people have said there is no miss that they can tell.. so it might just be the lumpyness of the AU1 tune etc etc??
theres like 100rpm variance in the tacho as its idling away(can see the needle bobbing)

ill give the o2 sensor a clean when i get my hand on some more TB cleaner

if you stab the throttle it sort of coughs some of the time(cold or hot) (like when sitting still then stab it even while its low down in the revs/speed it will do it)
rolling or sitting still too

its real strange..
lead resistance was all ok not long ago tho(just remmebered we checked it)

i do need an o2 sensor tho
she was responding slowly on the ford diagnostic computer

The resistance of the leads is probably not your problem, the fact that they may be shorting on the new steel intake as mentioned by JC, could be causing your missfire (if it is missfiring). Cleaning an O2 sensor is a waste of time.

When i recently washed my engine bay i found that my NO.5 lead wasn't connected properly as when i put water around the leads it started shorting on my head, you could also try this method to see if you could be losing spark somewhere. And you could here the thing clicking so its audible too.

wrapping a lead in metal can never help with a missfire it will just make it track to earth . if you need a thermal insulator you need a good non conductive insulator
